Urogynecology
Urogynecology is a subspecialty of women’s care that focuses on issues with the pelvic floor, including the female reproductive organs and the tissues and muscles that support them. Urogynecologists diagnose and treat problems in the urinary tract, vagina and intestinal tract. Common urogynecologic conditions include prolapse (the pelvic organs falling out or falling down), urinary incontinence (leaking urine) and fecal incontinence (leaking stool). Urogynecologists will often work with other doctors and healthcare team members to provide a specialized diagnostic and testing plan for their patients.
