Presbyterian’s occupational therapy team can help patients regain or improve their physical function and movement after surgery, following an injury or because of the effects of a chronic illness. Occupational therapists use different types of treatments depending on your specific needs. They work closely with your healthcare provider and other therapy team members to create a personalized rehabilitation plan. Some types of treatments used may include therapeutic exercises, stretches, hands-on therapy, and training in the use of different devices to help with activities of daily living (ADLs). Our team also provides patient education so you can continue to maintain or improve your physical function even after your formal occupational therapy treatment period is over.
This location provides the following types of occupational therapy treatments:
Hand therapy
Lymphedema therapy
Motor vehicle accident injury therapies
Orthopedic therapy, including pre- and postoperative therapies for surgeries including joint replacements
Orthotics fitting and training
Solid Ground fall prevention classes
Splinting for post-op, pain and deformity
Sports-related injury therapies for weakness, muscle or joint injuries, or post-concussion therapy
Neurologic therapy for patients with strokes, Parkinson’s disease, Guillain-Barre syndrome, traumatic brain injuries and more
Various types of manual therapies
Work-related injury therapies for muscle or joint injuries, or post-concussion therapy
Worker’s Compensation injury therapies
Some services may use independent community healthcare providers.

Based on your medical history and personal fitness goals, our exercise staff will develop an exercise prescription tailored to your unique requirements.The Healthplex currently offers a variety of classes such as yoga, stretch and tone and aerobics.
