Post-Graduate Year Two (PGY2) in Infectious Diseases Pharmacy
The PGY2 ID Pharmacy Residency at Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico is a flexible program designed to develop a practitioner proficient in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship. We offer unique experiences in both clinical and administrative practice that will prepare the resident for work as a clinical ID pharmacist or manager of an antimicrobial stewardship program.
PHS is a nine-hospital system with a fully electronic medical record (EPIC) that utilizes infection control software (EPIC ICON) as an integral part of the antimicrobial stewardship work which allows for system-wide impact. Presbyterian has a robust antimicrobial stewardship program with strong senior leadership commitment and active collaboration with infectious disease physician groups. The primary responsibility of the resident includes participation in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and clinical activities with the general infectious disease physician consult services.
Residents who successfully complete this program will possess competencies that qualify them for clinical pharmacist and/or faculty positions and position them to be eligible for attainment of board certification in infectious diseases pharmacy.
