Turquoise Care for Native Americans

We are a Managed Care Organization (MCO) Medicaid health plan that helps manage your healthcare needs. We help guide you through your Turquoise Care health plan coverage and can assist with accessing healthcare services. We also help when you have special needs or need complex healthcare services.

Presbyterian Turquoise Care is committed to improving the health of Native American members, patients, and communities we serve. Presbyterian Health Plan also has a dedicated Native American team to help you with your health plan needs.

Native Americans can choose to get healthcare service at Indian Health Service, Tribal Healthcare Facilities, Urban Indian Health Centers (I/T/Us) as well as the Presbyterian Health Plan network of providers.

You can choose Presbyterian Turquoise Care when you complete the Medicaid application.

PRESBYTERIAN TURQUOISE CARE PROVIDES YOU WITH ALL THE CARE YOU NEED.

Benefits include Preventative care, Care for pregnant moms, Dental and vision services, Disease management, Urgent or emergency care, Long-term services and support, Prescription drug coverage, Behavioral health services and much more.

Presbyterian Turquoise Care offers Value Added Services. These are unique services that are offered in addition to Medicaid covered benefits. Value added services are not subject to the appeals process. There are limitations to some of these services.

VALUE ADDED SERVICES

On top of all the great benefits and services that come with being a Presbyterian Turquoise Care member, you also get value added services.

  • Traditional Medicine Value Added Service – We know that Traditional Customs are a vital part of health and wellness to Native American people. We seek to honor and support your culture with the Traditional Medicine Value Added Service. This Value Added Service can help with $300 once per member per calendar year (January 1 to December 31). This service is only available to Native American Turquoise Care members. Use the links below to apply for this service.

  • Pregnancy Passport New Parent Program – Pregnancy Passport is a free program that offers rewards for attending prenatal and post-partum visits. We want to help you enjoy and understand your pregnancy. Plus, you can earn gift card incentives just for going to your prenatal and post-partum provider visits.

  • Baby Bonus Well-baby Program – Baby Bonus is a free program that offers rewards for taking your baby to their well-child visits. We want to help your baby remain as healthy as possible. Plus, you can earn gift card incentives for taking your baby (0-30 months of age) to their routine provider visits.

  • Enhanced Care Coordination Meals on Wheels for Members Returning Home from Inpatient Admission - Meals on Wheels – an enhanced Care Coordination benefit. Eligible members returning home from an inpatient admission or members who test positive for COVID-19 and have food insecurity. Meals may be provided to the member and a natural support/caregiver as needed. Meals may be provided for a two-week duration.

  • Enhanced Care Coordination Specialized Services – Additional services for members in Care Coordination only (must be approved by a Care Coordinator). These services include caregiver support programs, home monitoring for high-risk members, and individualized services for members who meet criteria and as part of the member’s care plan.

  • Medisafe Medication Reminder – This is a medication reminder that you can download for free to your smartphone. It can help you manage the medications for you and/or several members of your family on one phone. It can also track all the medications for you and your family and tell you when it’s time to get one or more of them refilled. It works with iPhone or those phones with Android.

  • School Sports Physicals – A physical exam to allow children 12-18 years of age to take part in sporting activities and completion of the needed forms. This is a limited physical exam and is not the same as a routine well-child exam or regular physical.

  • Tabtime Vibe Vibrating Pill Time Reminder – If you find it difficult to remember when to take your medication(s) as your provider prescribed, this modern version of the classic plastic pill case may help. Tabtime is available for less than $20, and it has five (5) compartments with different alarms that vibrate when it’s time to take your medicine.

  • Wellness Classes – Statewide community and online wellness classes for members with diabetes and/or asthma to promote healthy behaviors and improve quality of life. Offering a gift card incentive to the members who participate in and complete a program.

NATIVE AMERICAN MEMBER ADVISORY BOARD (NACAB)

Presbyterian Native American Affairs hosts Native American Consumer Advisory Board (NACAB) meetings to help us better serve Native American members and communities. These meetings are great for members to learn about services and benefits they can use as a Turquoise Care member. These meeting rotate around Native American communities throughout the state, allowing for different members to attend each quarterly meeting. Attendees can give meaningful feedback, ask specific questions and have direct communication with various health plan departments and Presbyterian Health Plan Native American Affairs.
