Presbyterian is notifying providers that on Feb. 21, 2024, UnitedHealth Group identified a cybersecurity threat to its Change Healthcare information technology systems.
In the interest of protecting provider and member data, Presbyterian temporarily ceased receiving, processing and making changes to claims from Change Healthcare beginning on Feb. 21. We are recommending that all providers who currently process their claims through Change Healthcare pursue an alternate method.

On March 20, 2024, the New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) issued Order 2024-0015 mandating that major medical insurers waive timely filing deadlines for claims and appeals submitted by non-hospital-affiliated physicians, physician groups, practices or facilities for all services rendered from Feb. 21, 2024.
In addition, the OSI order states that the following will be temporarily suspended for this period:
Prior authorization requirements
Retroactive claim denials for lack of prior authorization, utilization management approval or eligibility confirmation
