Volunteering at Presbyterian

Volunteering at Presbyterian began in 1952 when a small group of community minded women met to see what they could do to help patients at the hospital. With help from Marion Kellogg Van Deventer, who for 63 years embodied the heart and soul of caring at Presbyterian, an auxiliary was organized and the first volunteer opportunities at Presbyterian were started.

Today, in the Albuquerque Metro area alone, over 500 volunteers continue this legacy of community service. Additionally, volunteering plays an important role at all Presbyterian facilities throughout the state. On average, volunteers donate over 80,000 hours of service, valued at over $1.5 million annually.
