da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is pleased to announce the addition of the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System to the operating room at Presbyterian Hospital in Downtown Albuquerque. The da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System has unique features designed to provide clinical benefits and efficiency in the operating room, which translate to benefits for physicians and their patients.

The da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System advanced level of technology takes surgery beyond the limits of the human hand. Benefits for surgeons using the da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System include greater precision, increased range of motion and enhanced visualization and dexterity. Benefits experienced by patients include a shorter hospital stay, less risk of infection, lower blood loss, less scarring, reduced side effects and a faster return to normal daily activities.

This acquisition compliments Presbyterian’s goal of making healthcare better and safer by extending minimally invasive surgery to the broadest possible base of patients. Initially, the robot will be used for urologic and gynecologic procedures including hysterectomies and the surgical treatment of gynecologic and prostate cancers.
