We offer a spectrum of diagnostic cardiac testing, including stress tests (exercise and pharmacologic) to assess for coronary blood flow and measurement of heart function. Our experienced and compassionate staff strive to maintain a comfortable and caring environment for our patients.
Catherization Lab
The Presbyterian Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Lab is a state of the art facility. We perform thousands of diagnostic catheterizations and interventions each year. Our interventional cardiologists are skilled in a large range of interventional procedures, including balloon angioplasty, stenting, rotablation, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound, and flow wiring. The highly skilled team of medical, nursing and technical staff ensures that safety and comfort are the highest priority for each of our patients.
Electrophysiology Department
The Electrophysiology (EP) Department at the Presbyterian Heart Group provides comprehensive care in all areas of cardiac rhythm management. We have three Electrophysiologists, all of whom are board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. The department consists of an outpatient Arrhythmia and Device Clinic and an inpatient center and Electrophysiology Lab. The outpatient clinic sees patients in consultation and continuing care and actively follows patients with devices (pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronization devices, and implantable monitors). Three nurses help manage the Device Clinic, utilizing a computerized database to follow every device patient as well as an internet-based remote monitoring system that can monitor patients at home as needed. The EP lab provides a full spectrum of care including diagnostic procedures, ablations with both radiofrequency and cryo energy, atrial fibrillation ablations, intracardiac ultrasond, 3-D non-fluoroscopic mapping with the BioSense CARTO system, device implants of all types, and lead extractions. In addition, we work closely with Pediatric Cardiology Associates, providing consultation and invasive services to a wide range of pediatric patients.
