Professional Practice

Presbyterian recognizes the importance of involving staff in decision making and incorporates staff input in a variety of ways.  Nurses impact decision making by participating in optional management opportunities like: process improvement teams, annual staff surveys and nursing lead shared governance councils.

By being involved, nurses ensure that their professional input and decision making are included in designing, implementing and evaluating the patient care process.

Specific goals for the Nursing Organization are reviewed and revised by groups of nurses.  Nursing teams are responsible for incorporating the ANCC Forces of Magnetism into their practice as the organization readies for Magnet designation.
