Social Services

Social Service

Cancer is a personal matter. We understand that this can affect you physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.  Everyone responds differently to a new or changing diagnosis. When you begin to undergo treatment, you may experience feelings of isolation because of changes in your everyday life.  It is common to experience feelings of fear, anxiety, anger, and depression. These feeling can come naturally as a response to a difficult set of circumstances.

We want to help and support you. As part of a multidisciplinary team approach, a social worker is available to help. Our Oncology Social Workers are specialists and have experience working with cancer patients at all levels.

For more information on our support services, please call our Social Services Department at (505) 291-2006. If you have been admitted to the in-patient unit at Presbyterian Hospital, please call Care Coordination Services at (505) 841-1634.
